Here are just a few photos of my week in Japan. Japan is one of my favorite countries to visit. I do not see very many Americans travel there since it is more of a place for business men, very expensive, many people do not speak English, and there is not too much for families to do in the city. I love to go there because I love the culture and the people. They are very humble and loyal people. They really seem to respect each other, have high morals, high standards, take care of their elderly, and treat their surroundings (i.e. home, public transportation, facilities, workplace) with respect as well. I have never seen such clean and well taken care of cities. Everyone has a place and a job and they all seem to do it with honor. I know that the country is not perfect, don't get me wrong... they do have high suicide rates because of the stress placed on these people, there is crime and gangs.

My point is only that I love the sense of community and the understanding by their people that it is important to love your country and take care of it. It's important to respect thy neighbor and treat people the way that you would want to be treated.
Pretty wallpaper in a dressing room.
 Elevator at the mall.

A typical Japanese flower shop. Always filled with a beautiful variety of flowers and color.
A few things I brought back. I am probably strange for always taking pics of things I find, but I always find it interesting to see years later where I found certain things and it brings back memories of the fun times I had. I always say that Japan is like one big Hello Kitty store. I used to love that place as a kid and although I do not shop there now, my love for paper and crafting stuff has not changed.
My favorite find was the two hand painted teacups and rice bowls.

  1. Reading you my dear Aaron makes me more understand why I have "something" with you ! I love your enthusiasm for things, for travelling and people. I agree with you about taking care of our country, we should respect it so more because it's life and so important. Of course I love also, your finds... and the painted tea cups are just gorgeous ! Did you meet this kind of Japanese girls dressed like heaven with incredible clothes ? I love them and they are so sweet. When I go to Venice carnival they are always smiling and so happy to pose near me with my carnival suit (and they are always laughing that I love).
Hope my English not too bad and that you understand what I mean : I better at reading :)

  2. Hello my sweet Joelle-

It is so wonderful to hear from you. Your English is very good and I am very impressed. I wish I could speak French, of course it is my favorite language. I too love the Japanese girls. They are so very sweet and proper. Their sense of style is so fun. As I mentioned, I love to go to Japan because they have the best crafting supplies and some really unique things. I really love your painting. You are very talented. Thank you for your always lovely comment.

    1. Thank you so much for your sweet comment and reading my blog. You are right, I am sure most us of crafty girls would love Japan. I wish I could take more pics to show you ladies, but they are a little strict on taking photos in most of the stores. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

    1. Thank you Laurie! I was traveling mostly for business, but I always seem to find a little time to have some fun. There are too many neat stores, to just pass through. I like that many of their stores are not similar to the US, so you can find a lot of unique items. When I went to Paris, it seemed like a lot of their stores were similar to what we have here. i.e. guess, sephora, zara, etc. Enjoy your weekend!

  7. I most definitely will, although I get a little bit behind. I have been gone a lot these past two months, but it's is so nice to hear from you. Every time I am around you Heatherlee, you make me smile. I love to share with people who get me: ) sometimes I feel like I am not normal, but being normal is not that fun anyways. Right? I hope you are doing well. You family photos are always so cute and fun. You are such a good Mommy. If you are going to Susan's bachelorette perty, I hope you have a wonderful time. I am not going to make it plus I am 22 weeks pregnant so I wouldnt really be able to join in the festivities. Xxxx
